“If You Don’t Know Where You’re Going, You’ll End Up Someplace Else”

“If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll end up someplace else.”

I read this quote a couple of months ago while doing some research and I can’t stop thinking about it.

I’ve always been a firm believer in setting yourself goals in any and every aspect of your life; whether it be your work, career, relationships or just life – if you don’t know what your end goal is or you can’t visualise exactly what you want, you probably won’t make it.

Once you can visualise what your end goal is and what you want - i.e., once you know where you’re going - it becomes a hell of a lot easier to break that end goal down into smaller, achievable steps that you’ll be ticking off one-by-one before you know it and on your way to designing your dream life.

Taking some time out from your daily grind to let your mind wander and think about you truly want will be absolutely invaluable. For me, that tends to involve long walks by myself, some journaling or, often just letting my mind wander while I’m in the shower.

From my own personal experience, this part of figuring out what you want is the hardest bit. After that, I find getting stuff done and making shit happen really exciting and motivating.

I’d say I’m currently trying to figure out where I’m going, and it feels like my internal navigation system is glitching and pointing me in a number of different directions all at once. Now, I’ve got to figure out which direction to follow.

What do you think? Do you know where you’re going?
